This ponchini is not only a different kind of outfit, but it makes a great fashion statement. You can wear it two different ways and it's an easy crochet pattern perfect for anyone to make, from Caron International Yarns.

NotesNOTE: The Fashion Fling Ponchini may be worn two ways; either with the buttons in the Front and Back, or with a button at each shoulder.

Easy

Crochet HookK/10.5 or 6.5 mm hook

Yarn Weight(5) Bulky/Chunky (12-15 stitches for 4 inches)

Crochet GaugeIn single crochet, 8 sts = 4"/10 cm

Finished SizeApproximately 26" wide by 10" long

Materials List

  • Caron International's Fling #0007 Twilight, 6 balls (NOTE: This yarn has been discontinued. Specifications on the yarn: pigtail chenille, chunky or bulky weight yarn, 37 yds/33 m, Knitting gauge on size 9 US Needles 10 sts and 24 rows = 4" Recommended hook size H-8 US, recommended needle size 9 US)
  • One crochet hook size US K/10.5 (6.5 mm), or size to obtain gauge
  • Stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle (tn)
  • Sewing needle and matching thread
  • Two – 1" buttons

Instructions

Helpful Tip: Place a marker between 2 center sc; count 25 to marker, then 25 from marker to end.

BACK and FRONT (both alike)

  1. Foundation Row: Ch 51.

  2. Row 1: Beginning in second ch from hook, sc in second ch and in each ch across; turn—50 sc.

  3. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

  4. Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 10" from beginning.

  5. Fasten off.

FINISHING

 Join Back to Front:

  1. * Overlap the upper corner of one edge of the Back diagonally over the corresponding upper edge of the Front. Using sewing needle and thread, sew button 1/2" from the corner edge, (see diagram below).

  2. Measure 2 1/2" from the button toward the neck; using tn, tack the Front to the Back.

  3. Repeat from * for opposite side.

  4. Weave in ends.

My comment isn't really about this pattern specifically, it's a summary about all the patterns available on today's email. In a word...AWESOME!!! Such a great collection of pattern links on one page, the best one I have received by far! Usually on the daily email page, there are a few patterns I am not at all interested in, or just don't like. Today, I LOVED EVERY ONE!!! I can't wait to make them all!!!

In the FINISHING instructions, you reference "(see Diagram)"... Please provide a link to the diagram. Thanks......
