I used gray heather worsted weight yarn and black buttons and made this for my son-in-law in Wyoming--He loves it and it stays put in the wind.

Does anyone know how long this piece is before you start the button holes?

Help, I would really like to make a neck warmer. However, I am having trouble following the directions. Could the directions be rewritten by numbering the rows 1,2,3,4, etc. Also, I am having following the directions for the button whole rows. Could you add punctuation and simpler more straight forward directions? I would try to provide an example, but I am not that experienced in pattern writing. Thank you, new2crochet

Hi, this is my pattern, so I'll answer the questions. DK is double knit yarn this is a UK weight yarn, similar to sport weight. the button hole question, there is a small mistake it should say buttonhole row a: ch 2 BPDC x3 (FPDCx4, BPDCx4) twice. FPDCx1 ch2 skip next 2 stitches fPDCx1 BPDCx4
