i can't wait to work on this i hope it's really easy though because i am trying to make things besides butterflies and flowers :)

I have been making my own bags for years and have crocheted or knitted them ...with fun fur yarn at the top or ribbing like the cuff on a sleeve. For the draw string I just wove a couple strands of yarn in and out about 2 or 3 inches down from the top. I always have a bag that fits my gift just right.

I was trying to crochet this gift bag and was having a little trouble with the instructions when it says Working into rem loops of foundation ch, work 1 dc in each ch to last ch. 2 dc in last ch. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. 66 dc. Does that mean on the opposite side of the foundation ch that your supposed to crochet in so that you won't have to sew it together along the bottom? A little more instruction on how this could be accomplished would be very helpful. Thank You.

I think this is a great little gift idea and like the idea that it can be made out recycled items plastic bags jean or other materials will be making a lot of these might even enlarge for larger gifts. Thanks for the idea Sherry

This is a really good idea and you can use up some of your stash quickly with this patter which is nice and easy. Thanks

I can't wait to try this. My sisters and neices love little bagspurses, so I plan to make at least a dozen to use for their gifts. Then they can use the 'gift bag' the rest of the year for carrying other necessities. What a great way to use up those scraps of yarn as well! Oh, you could even use plastic bag yarn for these... great for taking small items to the pool or beach. Oh, my goodness, I just can't wait to get started!!!! Recycle, Reuse!
