Non-Messy Kid’s Project by Melissa Gallagher

The puppet show idea is a big hit with my 2 year old. I take old garden gloves, the tan canvas kind, or little knit gloves (I'm always finding one and losing the match) and make five little finger puppets out of them. I don't cutup the gloves, but leave them whole so my daughter can stick her hands in them. For the knit gloves, I like to use wiggly eyes, pipe cleaners, yarn scraps and fabric scraps to crate the characters. On the canvas gloves (and this is better for younger children), non-toxic markers can be used to color on hair, eyes, faces and even clothes. Just use polyfill stuffing, and if the glove is too big I use old pantyhose stuffed with polyfill to take up the extra room. If my little one puts her hand in the glove, it's a nice fit. I hope this helps, it's easy. It's fun and the gloves are great to share with friends!
