Materials List

  • 12 skeins Red Heart Classic yarn in Sea Coral
  • 4.5 mm (US G-6) crochet hook or size needed for gauge

Instructions:

Throw is crocheted in multiples of 7.

  1. Row 1 (RS): Ch 140, dc in 4th ch from hook, [skip 2 chs, Shell in next ch, skip 2 chs, dc in each of next 2 chs] across to last 3 chs, skip 2 chs, 3 dcs in last ch, ch 3 and turn.

  2. Row 2: Dc between first 2 dcs, [Shell between 2 dcs of 2 dc pair, dc between 2nd and 3rd dc of next Shell and 3rd and 4th dc of same Shell] across, 3 dc between last dc and turning ch, ch 3 and turn.

  3. Repeat Row 2 for a total of 75 rows.

Edging:

  1. On right side work along top edge (sc, ch 2, 3 dcs, ch 2, sc) between 2 right corner dcs, [(sc, ch 2, 3 dcs) in center dc of Shell, (sc, ch 2, 3 dcs) between 2 dcs of 2 dc pair] across, (sc, ch 2, 3 dcs, ch 2, sc) between last 2 dcs.

  2. Work along side edge (sc, ch 2, 3 dcs) in first dc, [skip next dc, (sc, ch 2, 3 dcs) in next dc] across, (sc. ch 2, 3 dcs, ch 2, sc) between 2 dcs of bottom corner edge.

  3. Work along bottom edge [(sc, ch 2, 3 dcs) between 2 dcs, (sc, ch 2, 3 dcs) in ch below Shell] across, (sc, ch 2, 3 dcs, ch 2, sc) between last 2 dcs.

  4. Work along side edge as for opposite side edge, join to beginning sc and fasten off.
