Welcome to our inaugural Top 5 Christmas crafts post! In case you didn’t know, AllFreeChristmasCrafts sends out a weekly newsletter, Crafty Christmas, which is filled with fun holiday ideas and projects. In June, we featured a wide range of topics including religious crafts and projects for girls. Did you miss out on these great projects? Never fear! Here are our most loved, most talked about and most desired projects from June.
Top Trends in June – ruffles, inexpensive crafts, simple crafts.
This project is so amazingly versatile. You can hang a lace angel as decoration, use it as gift wrapping or make it into an ornament. To make your own angel, you need a sewing needle and embroidery needle (no need to run out an purchase a sewing machine). Basically, this is a fun way to celebrate the season without spending all day indoors.
4. Dollar Store Glass Hurricanes
This is a project that always makes a splash. I think everyone loves it because it’s so insanely easy. All you need is a candlestick, some glue or tape, a glass vase and some decorative ornament/plastic balls. I think these look best on a dining room table or atop a mantle. One trip to the Dollar Store and you’re set for the holidays.
3. Printable Nativity Advent Chain
I like this project because it’s both entertaining for kids and educational. Cut out each of the figures and glue them to the chain. This is a family-friendly craft idea that’s perfect for the Christmas season.
Christmas decor doesn’t have to be red and green. If you like whimsical prints and offbeat designs, you’ll absolutely adore this pattern. I recently created a newsletter that featured a wide range of crafts for your Christmas table. I think this would serve as a great decorative piece during the holiday season. It’s also perfect for a party! Oh and this sewing craft is deceptively simple. Check it out for yourself and see what I mean.
And our most popular project from June is…
Apparently, our readers are wild for ruffles! Wreaths are great because they can be hung up at any time. It doesn’t scream Christmas, which I think is a good thing. It’s truly understated and extremely fun to make. In this case, simple and easy doesn’t mean juvenile or ugly.
