Classroom-Inspired Jewelry

August 10, 2011 by AllFreeJewelryMaking

It happens every year. Summer finally comes after what feels like a never-ending winter in Chicago and before I know it, fall is here. Regardless of where you live and what the weather has been like, summer is unfortunately coming to a close for everyone and for many of us, that means heading back to school. Either you are a teacher returning to the classroom, or you have little ones at home that must get back to the daily grind of riding school buses, packing their lunches and doing homework. To make the return to the classroom a little bit more exciting for yourself and the kids, try your hand at some of these fun, homemade jewelry pieces from AllFreeBeadedJewelry. Maybe wearing classroom-inspired items will make August a more happy time of the year for everyone!

Although many of today’s classrooms have made the switch to dry erase boards or are possibly even incorporating iPads into lesson plans, this Chalkboard Pendant Necklace is a great way to celebrate the classic chalkboard that was once a staple in every classroom. This adorable necklace is easy to make and would make a great gift for that special teacher in your life. Plus, you can change the chalkboard message whenever your heart desires, making it a great personalized gift. Teachers, it might also be fun for you to customize the message to correlate with what you are currently teaching in the classroom!

These Cute Computer Key Pendants are sure to shift anyone’s focus from swimming at the beach, back to working with letters and words. The pendant itself can used in a variety of different ways; they can be made into rings, bracelets, or even earrings. Kids will appreciate seeing their teachers incorporate language and the use of technology into their outfits!

Transform silicone pencil grips into some funky Pencil Rubber Beads! You can then use the beads to create a unique necklace, bracelet, or even a pair of earrings. Your students will be amazed and inspired by the creative use of an everyday classroom object.

Celebrate learning the alphabet with this colorful DIY Alphabet Necklace. Kids will be drawn to this bold statement piece and will hopefully be excited to learn their ABC’s with you!

The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear the word classroom is those classic No. 2 pencils used for most standardized tests. Put them to new use with this Pencil Cuff Bracelet. It’s super easy to put together, and it’s very budget friendly, as well. If you are a teacher, you most likely have plenty of pencils already lying around. Why not use them to jazz up an outfit? You can either keep the pencils classic yellow, or feel free to paint the pencils to give the bracelet a different look.

What everyday classroom object would be your favorite to wear?
