10 Easy Friendship Bracelet Patterns for Kids

May 22, 2017 by AllFreeKidsCrafts

10 Easy Friendship Bracelet Patterns for KidsWhen I was a kid, friendship bracelets were the “go-to” craft when you wanted to get even the littlest bit creative. My friends and I would get together to show each other the new ways we learned how to braid our bracelets. Of course, we didn’t know how to do the nifty friendship bracelet designs like the Trendy Simple Stick Bracelet or the Hand-Crocheted Knit Bracelet, but we perfected the art of crafting the Classic Friendship Bracelets and the Tightly Woven Friendship Bracelet. I taught my kids how to make the classic braided bracelet first, but then I found all of these cool new ways to make a bracelet! They absolutely loved these cool friendship bracelet design ideas that I found.

Your kids will have a blast with all of these new friendship bracelet patterns! They can get super creative by adding beads to “bling-up” the bracelet, or they can make their friendship bracelets out of felt. There are just so many new and fun ways that they can create bracelets for their friends to let them know that they’re thinking about them. The great thing about these bracelet design ideas is that they’re super easy! Most of them take no time at all, so your kids will have plenty of time to make a lot. They’ll also love being able to share the new ways they learned to make a friendship bracelet with their friends.

If you want to give your friend a little something extra on her bracelet, then put some bling on it! You can never go wrong with a little extra sparkle. There are so many fun ways that you can add something else to a friendship bracelet. Your kids will love being able to add colored beads or gems to their hand-woven creations. My little girl loves putting jewels on the bracelets that she makes.

10 DIY Beaded Bracelets for Every Occasion

November 17, 2016 by FaveCrafts

I used to wear a watch every single day until it broke. I couldn’t really fix it, and after a few days of going to work with a bare wrist, I got the itch. Do you ever feel that itch? Do you ever feel that need to have something decorative on your arm? As a temporary fix, I put together a couple of quick DIY beaded bracelets. They were simple, colorful, and fun, and at the time, I considered these bracelets as only a replacement to ward off that bare-wrist itch until I found a new watch. Little did I know that this temporary fix would become a regular jewelry-crafting habit.

If you’ve ever spent hours searching the web for beautiful watches, you already know that the ones you will want to show off are super expensive. In this day and age, watches are more for decoration than for practical purposes, too. We can always just check the time on our phones, right? Bracelets, on the other hand, can be cute and bubbly or decadent and ornate for way less money. For the price of one gorgeous watch, you can make a crazy amount of bracelets.  In crafting DIY beaded bracelets, I soon found myself making them for every occasion. I had bracelets for formal parties, small gatherings, summer outings, holidays, trips to the beach, and everything else under the sun! What started off as a simple bandage for my broken watch problem became a fun craft to pair with my daily wardrobe. These crafts also made phenomenal DIY gift ideas for friends, loved ones, nieces, cousins, etc.

FaveCrafts Giveaway: My Friendship Bracelet Maker

August 17, 2012 by FaveCrafts

One of my favorite childhood memories is going over to my neighbor’s house and making friendship bracelets. We’d grab some yarn or string from her mom’s craft box and we’d sit there knotting and braiding bracelets for hours. I remember marveling at the awesome designs we could make by simply tying one string to another. So when I heard about the My Friendship Bracelet Maker, I was really eager to try it out.

Let me just say that I’m jealous I didn’t have one of these when I was a girl! The My Friendship Bracelet Maker is the ultimate threading machine! This awesome kit comes with everything your little girl could need to make bracelets for herself or her friends. The String Holder’s unique design holds strings firmly in place so she can knot and braid away without worrying about her work unraveling. There’s also a cute butterfly clip to help secure the string during the knotting process. I had to pin the knot to my jeans when I was little!

The My Friendship Bracelet Maker also comes with 56 threads, each precut to 60 inches, so there’s no measuring and cutting involved. The threads are neatly organized by color in a unique storage system, totaling 14 colors in all. Thankfully you can store the threads right in the Bracelet Maker, so everything you need to make awesome bracelets is all kept together all the time.

Beginner’s Macrame Tutorial

May 5, 2012 by FaveCrafts

Remember the days of sitting outside with your best friends, making beautiful knotted friendship bracelets with your mom’s embroidery thread?  Those were some of my favorite childhood memories…

So it’s no surprise that I was so excited to see that macrame and friendship bracelets have begun to resurface.  I was even more excited when our Facebook fans requested to get a macrame tutorial in our weekly newsletter!  In case you missed it, here’s everything you need to learn to macrame friendship bracelets…from the basic materials to some beginner projects to help you get started.

how to macrame a bracelet

Beginner’s Macrame Tutorial

Must Have Materials:

  • Embroidery Thread–This is the best way to make durable and colorful friendship bracelets.  You can find embroidery thread in tons of colors…there’s even some multi-colored string out there!
  • Ruler–This will help you make sure that your bracelet fits around your wrist and, more importantly, insures that you have enough string to get the job done!
  • Clipboard–Having a clipboard on hand makes creating these bracelets much easier…since it holds it down for you as you work.  If you don’t have a clipboard, you can place your knotted string under something heavy to prevent movement, or simply pin it to your jeans like I used to do!
  • Beads–These are optional additions…but they do make your bracelet that much more fun!
