Winged Butterfly Beauty Online Coloring

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and what’s that last color again? Oh yeah, violet! When I was little I was a tomboy, so I hated the color pink. I would always reach for red or blue crayons when my friends would go for the pink or purple ones. It took me until I was older to realize that maybe I judged too quickly, and now I’m happy to report that pink and purple make it into my drawings. Coloring pages are so much fun for kids, no matter what color they choose. The best thing about thing about this simple kids’ craft is that you only need two materials: markers/crayons and a piece of paper. Don’t forget to bring your creativity to the table because you’re gonna need it to fill in a beautiful butterfly or an entire circus with a lion. Printable coloring pages are a blast for kids of all ages. Whether you’re a tiny tot or a teenager, you’ll love expressing yourself this way.

AllFreeKidsCrafts has gathered up 20 Printable Coloring Pages that will make your day. So settle down with a Tickle Me Pink crayon in one hand and Macaroni and Cheese in other, and get to work on creating a masterpiece.

Link Love: Decorated Mugs

November 15, 2012 by FaveCrafts

I have a secret that I must confess: I’m not a great crafter. I certainly try, but I’ve never been very artistic. In fact, most of my handmade projects could be categorized as “cute” or “a great first try”. During the holiday season, I often come up with handmade gift ideas for my friends and family members but never quite get around to them. I have the time but not the confidence. However, when I started noticing decorated mugs popping up across the web, I was so excited. These projects are so simple! All you need is a plain ceramic mug and some sort of decorating tool like a Sharpie or paint. From there, you can add polka dots, initials, phrases and so much more.

If you’re looking for a quick gift for a host or hostess, you can’t go wrong with a decorated mug. A quick personal touches like monograms or silhouettes can make a gift so much more meaningful and fun. This is also a great gift idea for a teacher (you know they need their coffee in the morning) or friend.

Decorated mugs are great for the holiday season due to the proliferation of seasonal warm drinks.  A DIY Painted Mug Set is sure to stand out on your table and only requires a few different glazes. Also, consider using chalkboard paint for your mug decorations. This is a trendy medium is perfect for a party – you can write each guests name on their mug! Make your own Crafty Chalkboard Mugs and you’ll never have a coffee mix-up again.

If you’re in need of a quick and easy project, a decorated mug is a way the way to go. This minimalist gift is will leave you with a little boost of crafty confidence during the most wonderful time of the year!

I talk about calligraphy in today’s FaveCrafts 365 so please take a minute to view it.

I’d like to share some of Marie’s projects on FaveCrafts.com…

The Vintage Clipboard shows off Marie’s talent for antiquing.

CHA Recap: Die Cut Machines

August 2, 2010 by FaveCrafts

One of the coolest parts of the Craft and Hobby Association show was seeing all of the new crafting products that have just been released. While I was there I saw every type of die cutting machine imaginable, and even some that I’d never heard of before. There was a machine to cut fondant for cake decorating,  a machine specifically for journal making, a machine that cut fabric, and even a machine that didn’t use a cutting mat!

The eclips machine by Sizzix was by far the coolest. Two unique features of this machine are its ability to score card stock (instead of merely cutting it) and its pen holder accessory, which allows you to replace the blade with a pen or marker and use your machine to draw instead of cut.  We took a video of a Sizzix representative demonstrating the eclips’ ability to cut a party favor bag and draw a design on it. Check it out!

If you’ve already got a die cutting machine that you love, here are 20 projects to do with it, plus learn how to use your die cutting machine in unexpected ways.
