Link Love: Delightful Gift Boxes

July 25, 2013 by FaveCrafts 1 Comment

I feel like I’m constantly searching for the perfect gift. Whether it’s an expensive items or something from the bargain bin, I love discovering that perfect present. I’ve found, however, that when I don’t spend time wrapping a gift or presenting it in a nice way, the overall excitement can decrease. It seems that the more presentable the gift looks, the more people appreciate the time and effort. Luckily, you don’t have to spend a bundle on gift boxes that will inevitably be discarded. Instead, you can make your creations using materials such as cardboard, paper and even calendar pages.

The best DIY designs show that you’ve put thought into both the presentation and the gift itself. Projects like the Inspirational Note Gift Box are great if you want to add a personalized sentiment and can serve as an alternative to a store-bought card. Also, don’t forget that recycled materials can come in handy when creating these kinds of projects! Make a Simple Recycled Gift Box or Recycled Cardboard Gift Boxes and use up scraps you already have in your stash. You can also dip into your collection of scrapbook paper and use them to add a delightful design to the outside of your box. Paper Gift Boxes allow you to stretch the limits of your creativity and try something new.

Before a birthday or special event, take a few minutes and create your own gift boxes. You’ll make a huge impression and show just how much you care. These projects show that big things can come in little packages.

  1. Pillow Boxes from I Try DIY
  2. Diamond Shaped Gift Box from Next of Nicx
  3. Paper Gift Box from Simple Notable
  4. Recycled Calendar Boxes from Scissors and Spoons
  5. Patchwork Paper Origami Gift Boxes from The Red Thread
  6. Tiny Origami Boxes from The Curious Cat
  7. Personalized Treasure Box from Create With mom
  8. Gift Origami Box from Skyrnka
  9. DIY Re-usable Gift Box from Crafting Creatures

Best of all, the projects in this eBook can be made all year long, so you don’t have to file a copy away and wait for the perfect opportunity to get together.

Here’s a sneak peek inside of our latest eBook:

Owl Desk Organizer – A new school year is just around the corner, so now is the time to get organized. Save up toilet paper rolls and decorative paper and create a simple desk organizer for your child’s room. Kids won’t mind doing their homework when they have a colorful homemade design to look at and enjoy. Plus, all of their school supplies will be within reach, so there won’t be any excuse to not buckle down and get to work. This is also an ideal project for anyone who needs a little extra help in the organization department – you can customize the piece to fit any space.

Easter Bunny Napkin Rings – Easter is a time to celebrate traditions and bring loved ones around a table for a delicious meal. Have kids put their creative talents to use by creating easy-to-make napkin rings from toilet paper rolls. You only need scraps of felt to complete this task, so you can make many at once. This is a fun and festive addition to any table and will give kids a chance to show off their work and receive compliments. Who knows, crafting could become a brand new Easter tradition!

Pretty Recycled Princess Bracelets – Cover an empty toilet paper roll with pink felt and add some stick on jewels to create a one-of-a-kind bracelet that little girls will love. This is a great after school project for kids and can be also worn as part of a Halloween costume. Kids will love creating a bracelet for themselves and each of their friends – it’s a great gift idea and can serve as an alternative to traditional friendship bracelets. Talk about an inexpensive project – you can use fabric scraps, recycled materials and dollar store embellishments to complete this project.
