Remember Macrame?

August 10, 2009 by FaveCrafts

Do you remember making macrame bracelets at summer camp? Perhaps your counselors called them friendship bracelets instead? Macrame is the technique of knotting hemp or other cord, often with colorful beads to create a bracelet, necklace or anklet. At my summer camp, we made macrame bracelets with letter beads for our names. Macrame can be quite elegant too, meaning adults can practice the craft to create lovely jewelry items. If you are not sure how to macrame, check out the Macrame Tutorial first.

The image below is a Macrame Meteor Bracelet. The project looks so much fun and you can create a matching ring with the same technique. Use your favorite cord color and bead colors to create just the right bracelet for you.
