It’s almost officially summertime, which means one thing: pool noodles are on sale. It actually means lots of things like that school is out, the sun is shining, the beach is open, and camp days are on the horizon, but in the crafting world, pool noodles are top priority. Not only are pool noodles incredibly cheap, but there are also tons of uses for them past keeping you afloat in the water. Buy an armful of pool noodles or use ones you already own to make this summer the best yet.
These budget-friendly floating devices, most frequently spotted keeping sun-bathing relaxers buoyant, make for some incredibly fun activities for children. The little ones might initially think I’m talking about hitting one another with these seemingly harmless sticks (they’re not so sweet when they come at your calf full force), but when a bit of creativity is inserted into the equation, they’ll find that there are much more fun ways to utilize them.
Believe it or not, pool noodles lend themselves to fun games other than Marco Polo. Play a kid-friendly version of croquet or teach a toddler how to thread with the colorful foam devices. If your kids are more Hot Wheels kinda guys, then get ready to be their favorite person ever. Slice these babies in half to make an epic Race Track that will be your kids’ new favorite toy. The noodles are easy to cut, which means that all of these fun activities for children should be (at the very least) attempted this summer. You’ll find that even trying them leads to hours of fun, giggles, and memories.
It’s not all fun and games here. Well, it’s all fun, but it’s not all games. There are amazing crafts to be made with pool noodles, too! It’s hard to pick a favorite among the bunch because people are just so darn creative. I think that the Pool Noodle Headboard is so adorable, and kids would absolutely love to have a hand in such a prominent part of their room. Another winner is the Giant Lollipop Craft. Imagine a giant candy party theme…
Life-Size Pool Noodle Ponies
Flip Flop Wreath
Winter Boot Form (keep your shoes nice while they’re in the off season)
Noise-Proof Door Stopper (also used to prevent smashed fingers)
Which of these crafts would you make with a pool noodle?
