Here’s Today’s Post:
Now that I’m no longer in school, I really love this time of year. That dread of returning to homework, tests and papers has been replaced with a deep sense of nostalgia. This year, instead of fantasizing about new supplies and freshly-pressed outfits, I think I’ll craft away my back to school blues. Thankfully, AllFreeSewing‘s latest eBook, 6 Free Sewing Projects to Make for Going Back to School, is filled with back to school projects that you can wear or use immediately.
I like that this eBook is filled with ideas for everyone. Whether you’re crafting for a kid or an adult, you’ll find crafty ideas in this eBook. Also, the projects cater to a variety of skill sets, so you can try something more difficult or go back to basics.
My personal favorite project in this eBook is the Lunch Sack. Last year I decided to “go green” and carry a reusable tote to work each day instead of using (and then throwing away) a plastic bag. This project is a great option if you want to keep your food the correct temperature and save the environment from unnecessary waste. It’s honestly so easy to make this project – beginners can show off their work with pride!
Here are some more back to school projects to get you in the fall spirit:

Back to school is a wonderful thing if you are a mom like me. The thought of the kids being gone at school is a wonderful thing.
Not too excited for back to school. NO longer have any kids at home, and Now it means my daughter is far away, instead of at home. But we still enjoy the get ready for school projects, now for a dorm room instead of a locker.

We homeschool, and do enjoy back to school time. Not too much changes, but our days become a little more intentional, and we find more time to do activities like crafts and projects.
Cool gituar shirt!
“back to school” doesn’t affect me since my daughters are grown and out of the house. BUT, it does remind me that Christmas is just a few short months away! Time to get stitchin’!
I wonder how successful one might be in approaching the makers of sports team fabric things for their “seconds” and otherwise unsellable fabric left-overs so one’s school-age child could have a special backpack or book tote with an applique of the team’s logo or such. You can always get something from the thrift store or a yardsale that you could cut up to get the valued applique material too. And if not “sports”, how about the child’s favorite TV show as inspiration for some embellishment?
As usual, no disappointments here…
great blog site, great info!!
My little ones are not yet in school but will hopefully get to start preschool next year!
I love the great ideas for back to school projects and can’t wait til I can make some for my boys 🙂
Cute! Good for holding crafting supplies as well I would think.
I really want to try the lunch sak.
