I wish I knew more about crochet. As the editor of AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns.com, I get to look at the very best crochet sites, blogs and forum. Although I know basic stitches and have even taken a crochet class, I still feel like a total novice. I love the look of crochet and wish I could create something to give to my family and friends.
In particular, I’m obsessed with amigurumi. I must admit that before I started working with FaveCrafts and AllFreeCrochet, I didn’t know what amigurumi was. But once I started digging up more and more projects, I couldn’t believe how many cool options there were out there.
Here are some of my favorite crochet amigurumi patterns:
- Goldfish Friends Amigurumi from Sherry for Chiwaluv Amigurumi Critters – Reminds me of my all time favorite fish, Nemo.
- Blue Bunny from Deb Richey for Caron Yarn – The definition of adorable. I want to make this for my little cousins.
- Bunny Toy from Lily Sugar’n Cream – A great project for Easter!
- Freddy the Froggy from Diane Buyers for Stormy’z Crochet – It’s all in the eyes.
- Teddy Bear Crochet Pattern from Bernat – I want this little guy to be my snuggle buddy.
- Snowman Family Crochet Pattern from Bernat- What a happy bunch!
Hopefully in time I can create some of these great crochet amigurumi patterns!

I have always wanted to learn how to make lace I watched a lady when I was a girl and was mezmorized just haven’t found the time with all the other crafts I do.
I have tried to learn to crochet SO many times! I’m left-handed, which doesn’t help, but I found out that I NEVER just sit down so my crochet square never grew. Someday…maybe in retirement? ha ha
I always wanted to learn how to sew and croichet and I’m doing it now. Is going better with the sewing than the crochet but I’m enjoing my time and the things that I’m learning. Thanks for all the wonderful tutorias and ideas 🙂
Woodcarving! I’d love to make some wooden spoons and kitchen tools.
I’ve always wanted to learn how to Tat.
I taught myself to crochet, but would like to learn some other stitches than the single and double crochet stitches.
I just taught myself enterlac crochet this weekend, so I can cross that one off 🙂 I still want to learn hairpin lace but haven’t got a loom or made my sweetie build me one yet… also on the list is tatting, spinning, weaving and lace knitting! Just depends on which tools come available first I suppose.
“So Many Crafts, So Little Time.” I do alot of crocheting. I haven’t met a craft I didn’t like yet.
I’d love to learn tatting–love the way it looks!
I’ve always wanted to learn woodturning. I enjoy building with wood and using lathes so I think it would be fun!
Stained glass, mosaics, woodworking …
Tatting, I kind of know how but I haven’t made any thing with it.
I, too, would like to be more comfortable with crocheting. The other crafts are felting, spinning and weaving.
I have always wanted to learn glass crafting, i.e. making bowls and beads.
I wish I knew how to tatt. I think it is one of the most elegant crafts. It is so delicate and lacy. I can do a little with the needle, but cannot figure out the tatting tool.
I want to learn sewing.
I have always wanted to learn how to knit and tat. I can do most others, but these escape me.
So many options so little time. But if I ever had the time and money to invest I would want to learn to sculpt with metal. I think I could come up with some cool concepts to make people shake thier heads and say “What is that thing?”
Tatting and tatted crochet! I was able to make a tatted cross about 30 years ago, but somehow my fingers won’t comply with my brain. The laces and edgings are just beautiful.
I would love to learn how to do landscape quilting. I know the sewing is simple, but choosing the colorways just escapes me!
I have always wanted to make wire jewelry. I know how to do a few things in theory but not practice.
I would really like to learn Felting.
I want to learn to advance in my crocheting knowledge, only know very basic, single stitch right now.
I would love to learn how to knit sweaters and socks. I would also like to learn new crochet stitches particularly jewelry and picture stitches. I taught myself how to crochet and recently have learned how to felt
I’ve always wanted to learn primitive rug hooking. Also want to learn how to tat.
I would love to learn how to knit! Someday.
Growing my own yarn, then spinning my own yarn. The ground up approach!
I need to learn how to crochet.
to crochet!!
Learned how to crochet many years ago, have taken to cardmaking with a passion but I am envious of the people who tell me sewing is ‘easy’ – that will be my next venture.
I would love to learn to tat(tatting) and macrame also would be something I don’t know.
I don’t know if it a craft but rag rugs are my pick to learn how to make.
I have always wanted to learn new things com but everyone I know is it seems to let it consume them and I am too busy being consumed by sewing.
Wish I could master the art of beading. I have a friend who is wonderful & her things are SUPER CUTE!
I already know several different types of crafts, but I still want to learn macrame, crochet, jewelry making (various aspects of it), tatting, needlepunch, how to attain certain patterns (such as plaid or pictures) in weaving on a table top loom. There are a few other obscure things I’d like to know but I don’t know what they’re called I just remember seeing them done when I was kid (one has to do with making flower shapes out of wire and dipping them into some kind of solution and getting what looks like stained glass flowers in the deal – I don’t know what that’s called nor what the solution was). Also working with plaster of paris and resin.
I know how to crochet, but I can’t seem to learn how to knit. If you make a mistake crocheting, you just pull it out. But if you make a mistake while knitting, I just can’t figure out how to correct a mistake.
I’d like to learn to tat.
I want to learn how to do parchment craft embossing and cutting. I am trying to learn this beautiful craft on my own.
It is not well known in the United states, but is known and done in many countries of the world for hundreds of years. It is used a lot in cardmaking and other home decor items.
