When I was in third grade, I did a class report on elephants. I checked out books from the library and began learning all about them. Every since then, I have been obsessed with elephants. I have elephant stuffed animals, elephant magnets on my fridge and multiple elephant necklaces. When I go to the zoo in my hometown, I can’t leave without a visit to see my favorite elephant, Raja.
When I found this project on AllFreeKnitting, I went crazy. Not only does it feature my all-time favorite animal, it is blue and orange (Go Illini!) This would be a great gift for a child or could serve as decoration on your desk. Either way, Flo this Elephant is my absolute favorite project. Try not to let out a big “Awwwww” when you look at the picture below.
What’s your favorite animal? Have you ever incorporated them into your projects? What did you make?

I love bears and monkeys. Haven’t crafted with them.
Love your advice and yarns. thanks, wade.
Believe it or not, I once crocheted a pink elephant! It was a humorous decoration for a powder room and it was a hit! Now I’m in love with dogs after a prolonged teddy bear fetish. 🙂
owls! Cards w/owls are fabulous!
I like a lot of animals but the one that makes it into my crafting a lot is owls–I use them on my cards.
♥♥♥ Elephants! ♥♥♥
Always been my favorite!
I’ve scrapbooked with them, painted, sketched and cartooned them, photographed them, papier-mâché’d them…all sorts of elephanty stuff!
Elephants are one of my favorites! I’ve made valentine’s day cards with them for some of my classes!
I love your owl I have a few but I have never used one in a project but you know I just might put one on my next quilt sounds like a new project to start.
I never made a elephant but I did make a Teddy Bear. He was brown with white circles on the end of his arms, feet, front of his ears and on his tummy. Really easy, fast and cute. Used washable yarn, stuffed him with nylon stockings so if he got dropped somewhere he shouldn’t he could go in the washer.
I haven’t crocheted any animals, but I have sewn some elephants and some sock monkeys.
I renovated a very sad rocking horse for my son. It was a fun project and I even used a new mop to make a mane and tail with. We still have it 10 years later.
I love cats, especially Siamese cat. I want to get that new knitting book, “Knit your Cat”. I haven’t crocheted or knitted cats yet, but I’ve done teddy bears.
I love all animals…I can not say that I have a favorite. Right now I am crocheting a bunny purse to give my little granddaughter for Easter. I plan to make her many different types of crafty animals through her younger years! 🙂
