Yael Berger recently contributed her adorable clay pot project that uses fun colors in bright paints. Fun for kids and adults alike. She has an interesting story, transitioning from the textile industry into her love for crafting and designing. She has set up an etsy store as her next big venture into the crafting world. Here’s what she has to say:
“‘I’ve knit and drawn for as long as I can remember. I used to paint furniture, really anything I could put my hands on. In my childhood, my mom had a knitting store, so I started knitting when I was about 8 years old. I used to go with her to the yarns supplier – there I developed a love for yarns, colors and texture. From here, the way to the textile world was short. I traveled a lot for work in the textile industry and got to see a meet lots of new places and people. But 2 years ago I felt I was not being as creative as I could be, I was less happy with travelling, so I knew it was the time to do some changes in my life. I left the comfort and security of a big international company and took the time to think. What do I want to be when I grow up (at age 50)? The answer was getting back to the paint & brushes, to hand knitting and creating one-of-a-kind pieces. As friends saw my work they encouraged me to start selling and recommended etsy as a good place to sell handmade. It’s only the beginning and I am learning new things every day!”
Thanks Yael for your contribution and we’re glad you’re following your passions!
