Easy and Green Mother’s Day Gift

April 27, 2009 by FaveCrafts

A clever Mother’s Day guest project I’ve just posted at FaveCrafts will make you ask, “Why did I not think of this before??” Jennifer of Ramblings of a Crazy Woman turns old jewel cases (CD cases) into a hanging picture frame.

I love this simple gift idea because:

  1. Mothers do indeed love anything to do with pictures of their kids
  2. It recycles unused plastic, instead of adding to plastic waste.
  3. It will cost you next to nothing! You can use scrap fabric, ribbons or buttons to decorate the frames.

Go check this project out and let us know what you would use to decorate these frames. Ric-rac? Lace? Antique buttons?

Cinema Saturdays: How to Make Paper Beads

One of the best things about making jewelry is that you can find materials from the most common items around you. A drawer knob can become a funky pendant, an old T-shirt can become a braided jersey necklace… But one of my favorite supplies to use when making recycled jewelry is paper! Have you ever […]
