Celebrate Culture: Cinco de Mayo Activities for Kids

Pull Pinata GarlandMargaritas, chips and guacamole, piñatas… Celebrate Mexican culture on the 5th of May; pay tribute to the wonderful traditions and food that make up what we know of Mexican culture. Of course, their traditions and the meaning of this holiday go much further than our narrow exposure, but as long as you’re celebrating in a respectful manner, Cinco de Mayo can be a marvelous day. Take time to discover the significance of the 5th of May, and while you’re at it, let your kids in on the story as well. (Here is the history of Cinco de Mayo.)
