9 Copic Marker Tutorials + Amazing Giveaway!

December 6, 2013 by FaveCrafts

I have to say that I’ve always been pretty intimidated to try coloring with Copic markers. I didn’t quite understand how they worked, and I wasn’t sure why a set of markers cost so much more than my go-to Crayola markers. Well, after watching this Copic Markers Beginner’s Online Class, I have to say that I’m adding Copic markers to my wish list this year!

With the help of Copic certified instructor and designer Jennifer Dove, I learned all kinds of helpful tips and techniques for using Copic markers. From simple tutorials on how to read the number system to helpful techniques to try when you’re blending colors, this online class is a great intro into using these amazing crafting markers.

Best of all, we’re giving one lucky winner the chance to win this online class!  Scroll on down for all the info!

One thing I was surprised to learn about Copic markers was that you never have to throw them away! The tips can be replaced if they get damaged and all the markers are refillable…so Copics are a great investment for those who love to color. They’re also waterproof on all paper types and acid free, so there’s no risk of chemicals or harmful fumes when you’re having fun with your markers.  Another great thing about these markers is that they’re fantastic for blending. Working almost like watercolors, Copic markers allow you to take your cards, illustrations, and designs to a whole new level…giving you a real-life look to your art with a few simple strokes of your marker. And with more than 200 colors to play with, there’s absolutely nothing you can’t do with these amazing marker collections.  Don’t believe me?  Take a look at these awesome projects and tutorials!

Dragons: Learn To Draw Like The Masters
From The Notebooks of Eugene Caine
Publisher: Walter Foster
ISBN: 978-1-60058-574-6

dragons-book

There are so many levels of learning to this book. First, it’s a lovely insight into putting together art journals or notebooks. The inspiration of seeing a beautiful book and slowly turning each page is a joy. Second, we all need a little imagination and make-believe in our lives. Sometimes we forget to be a child again when we create. A third layer to this book is how it shows the reader what to gather to draw, and then how to draw. Even the beginner can follow the steps and be successful. I have no other way to say it… this book has a ton of information disguised as an adventure. All of us can learn so much from the masters and this book of dragons is a treat.

Color Me Crazy-Kids’ Crayon Crafts

April 16, 2009 by FaveCrafts

You’re always yelling at your children not to draw on the walls, keep the marker on the paper, don’t draw on the table. Well now your kids can draw on their clothes. I found this neat craft that allows kids to use their imagination while drawing on their t-shirts and breaking crayons apart. All you need to do is break the crayons, use wax paper and an iron and your kids can create a great piece of art. The best part is they won’t get in trouble for breaking all the crayons or getting their clothes dirty. If you don’t want to do a craft like this then are plenty of other crafts listed on this site for all ages. Be creative and let them do their thing. Kids grow fast, so you want to teach them early how to be crafty and use their imagination.
