    These are some great ideas! There is a scholarship contest for high-school participants to win $5,000 and some contestants get very creative with their dresses and tuxedos. It feels awesome to wear something that you made yourself, and it also save a lot of money, especially if you are going to prom.

    Prom is so expensive and formal anymore it makes for some outlandish prices on dresses with little variety in design. I’d rather see prom as a fun, quirky event with dresses and accessories like these. Plus, the DIY aspect makes the preparing for prom experience so much more about your personality than the amount of money you drop in the mall.
