This is one of those do-it-yourself projects that couldn't be any easier. Simply follow these craft instructions to learn how to doodle a dragonfly for a greeting card, wall art or anything you want. You'll learn tips like smudging and blending that will make your doodle look professionally made. Indulge in some home craft ideas that are simple, fast and fun by trying out this dragonfly doodle.

Dynamite Dragonfly Decor

  • Tombow Dual Brush Pens (Tiffany used the Retro and Groovy sets)
  • Tombow non-stick blending mat (or other non-stick surface)
  • Greeting card paper and envelopes

  1. This is so easy! Just grab your Dual Brush pens and start doodling! (Tiffany's dragonfly doodles were inspired by the Magenta dragonfly rubber stamping sample on the Tombow pen package!)
  2. Draw an outline of your design with the fine tip.
  3. To blend colors, apply the brush tip to a non-stick blending mat to transfer color to the surface of the mat.
  4. Next, pick up the colored ink with your colorless blender and start coloring in your doodles. You will notice that the color starts to lighten into an ombre effect as you continue to apply. Repeat to apply different colors. You can pick up one color at a time with the colorless blender or pick up more colors for your own unique color blends.
  5. If desired, use the brush tip to add more lines of color.
  6. Once you have applied your color, you can also go back and add more outlines to your doodles.

Sometimes all you need is a little inspiration to create some fun art, and this project is it! Such a beautiful and whimsical design! Depending on where you would place this, you could also, add some glitter or glue rhinestones along the wings or antenna for some extra sparkle. A fun and creative project!
