Heartfelt Message Valentine Card

Use this simple design for a gentle greeting to cheer a friend, invite someone for lunch, use as a valentine or share "Thanks" with someone who has touched your heart.

  • Blank card 4" x 5.5"
  • Silver heart paperclips
  • Printed paper (Black & Gold) and red cardstock
  • Eyelet and decorative washer
  • Kreinik Iron-On #16 Braid: 6020, 6090, 6225 (the "Milestone" assortment)
  • Mini iron or household iron
  • Teflon Press Cloth
  • Glue stick

  1. Turn your iron onto the highest heat setting and let it heat thoroughly.
  2. Glue printed paper to card.
  3. Cut a 1" square of red cardstock. Set your eyelet and washer in the center. Glue to card.
  4. Make a loop with the gold thread around one side of your first heart clip: lay the thread at a starting point, cover with the Teflon Press Cloth, and press for several seconds until the thread adheres. Iron to secure the loop. Trim the thread, leaving a small tail. Repeat on other side. Repeat for second heart.
  5. Position your hearts on either side of your center red square. Iron the loops to the card to attach. Trim the tails at the edge of your printed paper and the red square.
  6. Iron gold border around the edge of the red square and the larger printed square. Iron a second border around the gold using the silver thread.
