Ugly Christmas sweater pillow covers have never been more welcome in any home than they are around Christmas time. Materials List

  • A few ugly Christmas Sweaters with a nicely finished bottom edge
  • Fabric scissors
  • Sewing machine

  1. First, lay the sweater flat and place the pillow form on top. Measure out how large your pillow cover should be on the sweater with a piece of chalk. Top tip: you’ll want the pillow cover to fit snug!! And don’t cut the bottom edge because that will be the opening for the pillow form and it typically has a nice finish.

  2. Next cut out the top and sides of the sweater, lay right sides together and sew the 3 cut edges.

  3. Turn your sweater right side out and stuff your pillow form inside. There you have an ugly Christmas sweater throw pillow and a great way to refashion your recycled ugly Christmas sweater. And the uglier the better!! Merry Christmas!

That is so clever and cute to use ugly sweaters for pillow covers! An inexpensive project (because one already has the sweaters) and a quick way to add instant holiday cheer to a room. Thanks for sharing!

This is such a good idea! I love ugly Christmas sweaters, but they're so limited in how long you can wear them or use them. This is the perfect way to make permanent seasonal decor out of them so they don't go to waste.
