OMG Painting with nail polish is a serious game-changer

If you're tired of the same old jewelry craft ideas, consider using items you already have on hand to change the look of your projects. Learn how to color metal with nail polish and acrylic paint and create a standout piece from Savannah Starr that you can wear anywhere at any time.

Start with a plain metal angel ring and brush on your favorite nail polish. Brush on a heavy coat or add a glittery layer on top to create a softer look. You can also squirt some paint onto a surface and use your finger to cover the ring. Once the surface of the ring is dry, use a toothpick to apply rhinestones. This project is so cheap and easy, you'll want to make one for all of your fashionable friends.

Easy

Materials List

  • Metal angel ring

  • Rhinestones
  • Toothpick

How to Color Metal By Painting With Nail Polish

Instructions:

  1. Use nail polish brush to brush color onto metal ring. You can use a dry-brush technique or apply a thicker coat. Let dry completely. I then applied the clear iridescent over the top to give a softer effect.

  2. For another painting technique, squeeze a small puddle of Lumiere paint onto a non-stick surface. Dip finger into paint and gently rub over surface of metal ring. Let dry.

  3. Use toothpick to apply glue to rhinestones. Let dry completely.
