Upcycled Doggy Leg Warmers

It's cold outside - make your pooch Upcycled Doggy Leg Warmers from Erika Lindquist! This is an awesome pet craft that can be made from recycled materials.

 

Upcycled Doggy Leg Warmers

 

Materials:

  • Old pair of fuzzy socks
  • Scissors
  • Sewing needle
  • Thread
  • Ruffles, optional
  • Bows, optional

Instructions:

  1. Find an old pair of socks (for bigger dogs, use knee highs and cut them to the desired length). Cut the socks at the bottom of the ankle area.

  2. Then cut the top part in half.

  3. You should now have 4 pieces. Turn them all inside out and sew the new edges together leaving the top and bottom edges open. The type of fabric these socks were made of required hand stitching instead of the sewing machine. Take in as much as you need depending on the width of your dog's legs.

  4. Reverse them again, and voila!

Does anyone like to keep their dogs feet warm when going for a walk but do not know whereto find doggy leg warmers or the price of them to high. Well here is a super fast and easy tutorial for you to see. By using some of your old fuzzy socks or leg warmers for a big dog and a little sewing you can make your furry friend a pair of doggy leg warmers or a few pairs. Love that you are recycling too. If you do not have any on hand try the dollar store they always have some. Great idea.
