Ladybug Paper Plate

This is a fun Plaid summer craft for kids using easy supplies like paper plates. Create a ladybug or other fun bug for the kids to play with in the garden.

Ladybug Paper Plate

Materials:

  • 2548 - FolkArt ® Acrylic Colors - Apple Red, 2 oz.
  • 938 - FolkArt ® Acrylic Colors - Licorice, 2 oz.
  • Paper plate
  • Styrofoam cup
  • Craft glue
  • Wax paper
  • Scissors
  • 2 large white buttons

 

Instructions:

  1. Cover work area with wax paper.
     
  2. Cut bottom portion of paper cup to create head.
     
  3. Cut 6 legs out of remaining portion of cup.
     
  4. Paint entire project with Licorice. Let Dry.
     
  5. Paint top side of plate red as shown. Let dry.
     
  6. Paint mouth red.
     
  7. Paint black dots on top of red portion.
     
  8. Glue legs and head on to create bug body.
     
  9. Clue on button eyes.

Isn't this just the cutest little,project? Any little one would love to have mom or older sub,I got help me make this. You could also use this idea for inspiration and perhaps make a frog or other critter, just use your imagination. Add some other components like pipe cleaners and colored cotton balls on the ends to create antennas of feelers, and wings for a butterfly. The possibilities are endless! Thanks for sharing a fun idea!

I could add this to my list of activities with my daughter during summer. This is fun and easy to do! Very cute too! We can also make these on Halloween or maybe on her birthday. Just attach a yarn on it then hang it up or just stick them in the wall to make it look like their crawling.
