Crystal Elegance Lariat

By: Vicki O'Dell from the Creative Goddess

Add some sparkle to your outfit with this Crystal Elegance Lariat. This beaded necklace tutorial from Vicki O'Dell will teach you how to make this versatile piece of jewelry. Attached to the chain are gorgeous Swarovski crystals making this necklace really shine. It's a beautiful statement piece that you'll love.

Elegant Crystal Lariat

  • 3.4mm silver plated 2mm elongated chain (WCO59849)
  • 5 packages 2 inch bright silver head pin (1983-33)
  • 2 packages violet faceted round crystal bead (0700-6-14)
  • 2 packages 6mm amethyst faceted round crystal bead(0700-6-04)
  • 2 packages 8mm amethyst faceted round crystal bead (0700-8-04)
  • 2 strands Swarovski Crystal bicone dark purple mix (1999-2441)
  • 2 strands Presciosa Crystal amethyst strand (1999-1493)
  • 2 strands Swarovski Crystal bicone cyclamen strand (1999-2439)
  • 2 strands Swarovski Crystal bicone crystal strand (1999-2452)

  1. Start out by cutting the chain to length.
  2. To figure out how long to make it fold the chain in half and put it around your neck (the loose ends will slip through the loop). Decide how long you want it and then cut the chain.
  3. Put a bead or a few beads on a head pin and make a simple loop. Repeat this many times over. I find it makes assembling the necklace easier if I keep the different beads and colors separated.

  4. Starting at one end of the chain , begin adding the simple loops. For approximately 3 inches on each end I put a simple loop in each link of the chain.

  5. For the rest of the necklace I put a simple loop every 3-7 links. You're finished!
