Underwater Necklace

This simple and fun project from Katie Hacker is great to remember a day at the beach during the cold of winter. The silver and teal colors of this necklace make it seem like you can hear the ocean.

Underwater Necklace

Materials:

  • Remembrance Memory Wire; 1 1/2 loops of necklace-size
  • 7" length of 1.7mm black Rubber Tubing
  • Two 3mm round silver Memory Wire End Caps
  • Beadalon 49 Strand Most Flexibile wire; 2" length of .013" diameter
  • 1.3mm silver crimp bead
  • 35mm teal/silver pendant
  • Green Toho seed beads: 22 size 6/0, 15 size 11/0
  • Six 6mm round clear glass beads
  • Ten 4mm silver spacer beads
  • Memory Wire Shears
  • Beadstorm™ Chain Nose Pliers
  • BeadFix™

Steps:

  1. String the 11/0 beads onto the Beadalon wire. Place a crimp bead on one end, then string the pendant onto the center. Place the other end through the opposite side of the crimp bead to form a loop. Use chain nose pliers to flatten it.

  2. String the pendant onto the center of the necklace. On each side of the pendant, string the following beads: clear, silver, four 6/0, silver, clear, silver, six 6/0, silver, clear, silver, 6/0.

  3. String the rubber tubing onto each side of the necklace. Trim if necessary so that 1/8" of memory wire shows at each end.

  4. Place a drop of glue onto the wire end, then press a memory wire end cap onto the wire; repeat for the other end of the necklace.
