Spring Flower Necklace

This month's project from The Bead Studio is inspired by the beauty of the Spring Gardens. We all endured the April Showers and are rewarded with glorious May Flowers.

Materials:

  • Package 1.5" headpins
  • 36 flower beads
  • 36 4mm crystals
  • 10 leaf beads w/ vertical hole
  • 2 6mm round beads
  • 2 crimp beads
  • 4 6mm soldered rings
  • 1/2 yard ultra suede cord, cut in half
  • 1 foot 24g soft sterling wire
  • 1 sterling lobster clasp
  • 6" soft flex wire
  • Wirecutter
  • Round-nose Pliers
  • Chain-nose Pliers

Instructions:

  1. Place flower, beads, crystals, and 8 of the leaf beads onto headpins and bend pins to a right angle.

  2. Trim wire to 3/8" and turn wire with round nose pliers to create a loop above beads.

  3. Thread end of ultrasuede cord through a soldered ring and wrap tightly with 24g wire. Repeat with the second piece.

  4. Crimp the soft flex wire to the soldered ring.

  5. String one leaf bead and a 6mm round bead onto the soft flex wire.

  6. Add in all the flowers, leaves and lady bugs onto the wire in a random order. You may want the the largest flowers in the center.

  7. After all the flowers are on end with a 6mm bead and a leaf bead and crimp to the other ring.

  8. Size cord to desired length and attach rings to the cord.

  9. Attach clasp to one ring.

Never attempted to make a necklace that has all the detail work this one has but this spring flower necklace really gorgeous. I love the combination of the bead colors and the way they are assembled. This necklace will make a great gift for Mother's Day or Just Because gift. have never made a necklace on cord before either so this will be a first.Nice tutorial so if you have ever wanted to make a necklace like this give it a try. Anyone make this?

This looks like it will be fun and really a pretty necklace when finished, can't wait to get started
