Floating Art Glass Necklace

Let out your inner artist with this glass necklace from Katie Hacker. This piece will look delicate and beautiful as it creates an illusion of floating around your neck.

  • Two 19" lengths of .015 diameter bright Beadalon® 19
  • Silver lobster clasp and tag
  • Two 1.5mm silver crimp tubes
  • Twenty-two 1.3mm silver crimp beads
  • Forty-four 5mm silver rondelle spacer beads
  • 11 square striped cane glass beads
  • 5mm purple bicone glass beads
  • Silver-lined E beads: 4 red, 4 yellow, 6 purple, 4 green, 4 blue
  • Nippers
  • Crimping pliers

  1. Hold the Beadalon® 19 strands together and place a crimp tube 1/2" from the end. String the Beadalon® 19 strands through half of the clasp and back into the crimp tube to form a loop. Use crimping pliers to crimp the crimp tube.
  2. On one strand, leave 1," then string a crimp bead. Use crimping pliers to crimp it, then string beads as follows: ten black E beads, two spacers, one red E bead, one cane glass bead, one red E bead, two silver spacers, ten black E beads and a crimp bead. Crimp it. Leave 1" and repeat the beading pattern five more times using a different color of E beads for each.
  3. For the second necklace strand, leave 2," then repeat the beading pattern from Step 2. Hold the Beadalon® 19 ends together and string a crimp tube 1/2" from the end. String the ends through half of the clasp and place them back into the crimp tube to form a loop. Use crimping pliers to crimp it.
