Easy Peasy Hair pins

Materials:

  • Hairpins and clips (you can find these at craft stores, like Hobby Lobby)
  • Vintage earrings
  • Aleen's SUPER Gel Adhesive
  • Wire cutters

Instructions:

  1. I used some wire cutters to snap off the back of the earrings.

  2. We brushed on some adhesive and added the earrings.

  3. You only have to hold the pin to the earring for a minute or two until it's really on there and dry.

  4. Buttons also work well for this project. You just have to use ones that don't have a loop on the back.

These pins are so cute. I think the vintage earrings add a nice touch to the pins and will help me not to loose them. This would also make such a wonderful gift idea.

Want to pull your hair out of your face with something not so big or around your head or you want something pretty but little then why not make some easy hairpins and that they are. So simple and quick that you can make dozens in minutes. You can dress them up or down with embellishments or jewels or even pearls. These can be worn from young to old, fancy to simple. Have some extra embellishments left than why not make some earrings to match. These will look pretty on bride and her bridal party. Great tutorial.

I made some ultra nerdy hairpins with some extra logic boards I had laying around...

great idea - i can hear hubby sighing now --- another hobby for me to drive him crazy with!! hee hee

Wouldn't it work out great to put the hairpin thru the loop on the back of the button and then add a dollop of glue? I would think that would be much more stable than trying to attach a button without!

i thank this is a good project for all the little odds an ends that i end up with in my jewelry box

E6000 glue works great for this kind of thing, too.

so easy to make I shall be doing this so easy for school children to make

what was the little circle glued on the hairpin before it was glued to the jewelry? thanks.

you buy the hairpins that already have the circle on them. I have seen these kind of hairpins at the craft stores, like Hobby Lobby and JoAnns'. These make it SO much easier to glue your items on

What type of adhesive are you using? Fantastic idea!!

What a great idea! I have some old junk jewelry that would make some pretty hair pins, thank you!
