Romance Embossing Board Card

Use the Crafter's Companion Romance Embossing Board to create this romantic card! This pop-out card will be sure to dazzle your special someone on any occasion! Just follow these five easy steps to create this eye-catching gift.

Materials:

  • Romance Embossing Board
  • Top Score Scoreboard (& Scorer)
  • Crafters Companion ‘Rock - A - Blocks’
  • 2 Sheets Of Letter Size Pearl Card
  • 1 Sheet Of Background Paper
  • Card For Stamping
  • Stamp
  • Jump Rings
  • Black Staz-On
  • Colouring Method (Pens, Pencils, Ink Pads)
  • Double Sided Tape Or Adhesive

Step 1

Take a piece of the cardstock you have chosen for the outside of the card and lie it onto the Top Score multiboard, score down the Half fold US Letter line then fold the card in half. Place the card back onto the board and score down the Gatefold US letter line, turn the card around and score down the Gatefold line again

Step 2

Place this scored cardstock face down on the Romance board, and line up the centre line through the oval with the centre fold line on your card. Follow the channels down and emboss around both the inner and outer oval.

Using a craft knife, carefully cut out the outer ovel, just inside the embossed line to leave an embossed edging on the aperture.

Step 3

Take the second sheet of cardstock and score and fold in half using the Top Score multiboard. Also make a small notch where the Gatefold A4 line is then line this up with the leading channel for the heart design on the Romance board. Emboss around the inner and outer heart designs to create a decorative heart frame on the front of the card.

Step 4

Emboss a version of the inner heart onto some patterned paper or cardstock and cut around outside of the embossed lines. Stick this in place on the front of the card over the centre of the embossed heart to form a layer. In the centre of this, add your own topper for decoration.

You can also emboss a border onto the edge of the card as additional decoration - there are 4 border designs on the board to choose from.

Step 5

Complete the popout card according to the directions in the Top Score Multiboard instructions leaflet and use the leftover centre of the oval as a dangling aperture.

Tip: each of the shapes on the board has 2 sizes nested within each other making them ideal for creating apertures with dangling centres in all 4 shapes in exactly the same way as we have done here.
