Learn how to decorate a grapevine wreath for spring with Dollar Store materials!

Spring Grapevine Wreath Idea
This image courtesy of psiloveyouscrapbooking.com

Decorating a grapevine wreath for spring isn't as hard as it sounds! Learn how to put together this gorgeous wreath using Dollar Store materials. It's so easy to do and the finished result is so gorgeous. Grapevine wreaths have a beautiful rustic flair and you can add any flowers you prefer to personalize it and make it your own. Other embellishments like butterflies and ribbons also take this wreath to the next level. If you've never tried your hand at wreath making, this is an easy and affordable tutorial to start with.

Follow along with the video below and you will see how Pam made it.

Materials List

  • Grapevine wreath – They come in lots of sizes. Choose whatever size you want, but keep in mind that different size wreaths will need more or fewer supplies.
  • Silk Flowers
  • Ribbon
  • Butterfly, Birds, dragonflies, etc.
  • Wire Cutters
  • Glue Gun and glue sticks
  • Floral wire to tie bow

Instructions

  1. I started by making a bow using ribbon that I found at the dollar store.  There are a gazillion ways to make bows.  Watch the video to see how I made this one.  Attach the bow to the wreath using the wire that you tied it with.

  2. To make a wreath, you will need short stems on your flowers.  Use wire cutters to cut apart all of the flowers.

  3. Using a glue gun, attach the flowers and leaves to the grapevine wreath.  I prefer to use a regular hot glue gun instead of a low temp glue gun, but it’s up to you.  Add flowers until you get the fullness that you like.  Watch the video above to see how I spaced the flowers.

  4. I added a butterfly to the wreath.  The dollar store always has great decorations to adding to your wreaths.  They have dragonflies. ladybugs, frogs, and other critters in the craft section and in the garden section.

  5. Here’s my finished wreath.  I can’t wait to finish my Craft Room so I can hang it up.  I have a few more teal accents to add to my room, and the wreath will fit right in.

I used to make a lot of floral swags and wreaths, but I am out of practice. This grapevine wreath looks easy to make, and I can probably find the flowers at the dollar store. I will make one in pretty pinks for spring and another one with summery blues and purples. These will look beautiful on my living room wall!
