Glittery Wallflower Ornament

Easy home decor crafts can be made using all sorts of materials including discards and recyclables. Create a sparkly Glittery Wallflower Ornament from Michele Kovack using an empty air freshening wall plug-in and fun embellishments such as glitter and paint.

  • Wallflower plug-in
  • Needle no pliers
  • Paint
  • Mod Podge
  • Foam brush
  • Diamond Dust
  • Glass glitter
  • Ornament hanger
  • Embellishments

  1. Take the center of the plug-in out with needle nose pliers.  Wash inside of it thoroughly. If you want the bulb part to have a bit of color showing through, pour a bit of paint inside the plug-in.  Swish around and dump out any extra paint.  Allow time to dry.

  2. Once paint inside is dry, grab some Modge Podge, and foam brush, and Diamond Dust.

  3. Apply Modge Podge to outside of plug in and sprinkle with glass glitter.

  4. Find a place to dry your plug-in.  I actually nestled the plug-in directly in the glass glitter to dry.
  5. Add an ornament hanger to the top of your plug in (I added a bit of glue to hold it) and decorate with flowers, branches, ribbon, etc.

  • If you are using colored German Glass Glitter, painting the inside is not necessary.
