On more than one occasion I have seen those metal purse frames in my local hobby shop. I would have never thought that I could create a coin purse with crochet. I really like this little purse and the little added elephant button is just too cute. These would be great to gift a young girl just starting to be responsible for her money.

I thought that the purse frames would really be expensive. I think I will make this to place in gift baskets this year and enclose a little cash to get them started. I have few nieces that will think these are cute and knowing them, they will love the cash more than the purse.

Who knew that making a tiny little coin purse would be so darn easy?! I sure didn't. I am blown away to learn that all I need to do is make a magic circle and crochet in the round with increases. No other shaping needed. When you sew on the metal coin purse frame, it naturally creates the classic shape of a coin purse. I think I want to make one of these for myself!
