Fun Crafts with Kids

Fun Crafts with Kids by Amythest, Halifax, Nova Scotia

  1. Bunny Puppets- Take Styrofoam cups and use round stickers for the eyes and nose. Poke pipe cleaners through the cup for ears and bunny arms. Then, attach a popsicle stick to hold onto the bunny puppet. With no glue, scissors, or paint, this is a safe, no-mess project!
  2. Sock puppets- With creativity, you can make some pretty cool characters, depending on the age of your kids. They can sew, glue, or draw the features on.
  3. Recycle Creatures- With the recycled creatures, the kids had to go around the house and save "good" trash and come up with an idea to make with it. This teaches them to recycle and use their imagination.

When we are doing messy crafts, I cover the table and floor with a plastic sheet, and the kids with plastic paint smocks (the sheets and smocks were bought at the dollar store) and they each have one old outfit to wear. When we are done everything goes into the washer-this really cuts down on any mess.
