Aleene's Button Snowflake Ornaments

Updated December 13, 2017

Turn your space into a winter wonderland with simple Christmas craft ideas. Gather up some buttons and save a cereal box for this precious project. Cover your tree in Aleene's Button Snowflake Ornaments from Heidi Borchers and get in the seasonal spirit. Wire and rhinestones help this project take on a unique look that is unlike anything other Christmas ornament craft.

Use overlapping craft sticks to create a snowflake and lay the pieces on to of the plain side of a cereal box. Cut out a design and paint the front of the cereal box material with acrylic paint. Once dry, add glue to the front of the snowflake and sprinkle glitter over the surface. Add buttons and rhinestones once glitter is set. Cut wire and use a plier to turn the straight pieces into swirls. Glue the wire to the back side of the snowflake so they peak out from behind the cereal box material. Add some string and hang one one on your tree or even on a doorknob.
