Pine cones are so lovely and they can be very fragrant, but some of them have lots of sticky sap! Does anyone know of a a good way to deal with that messy sap? It smells great though! And is there a difference in using comes with or without the seeds released? I think they have a looser look when the seeds have been sprinkled out! Adding some clear fishline to this garland can be a good alternative to tying it together or dangling ornaments from it. So pretty!

I have a ton of pine cones in my back yard and this is a great way to use them as garland maybe for going up the stair on railing or in an office for your desk. I love the gold color but you can use your color.Super easy and inexpensive project. You can even do it as a family and hang for your family dinner. Great idea.

I was looking for something like this last holiday season, so I will definitely be using it this year. I love making crafts with pine cones because they are so easy to find. You can just go on a quick walk and find dozens of them laying around for free in my area. Great post for thrifty crafters too.

I used pine cones for another project and I would like to add that when using the cones remember to clean them either laying in water or baking in the often for a while to kill all insects and bugs in the pines. Another variation is by laying the cones in bleach water for a few days. The cones come out a lovely whitish colour

I love how pretty this project came out. Simple, yet perfect to use those pine cones that i lave laying around and keeping my children busy when they "complain" how bored they are. I will put this one on the corridor and will put the Christmas light with it as well. Ho-Ho-Ho. What a simple , yet great idea.

Now this is something I can get into. My yard is full of pine trees, which means one thing, plenty of pine cones.people will come by and ask if they can have some and I say, get your bucket or basket. I have many more than I know what to do with, but now I have something else to do with them. This is very easy and very pretty and won't cost me much at all. Thanks for sharing.
