Top off a creative gift with a creative homemade Christmas craft.  Meggan's Toy Soldier Gift Tag is a great way to show you care and spread holiday cheer!  The great thing about this adorable DIY gift tag is that it can also double as an ornament the following year.  Go the extra step this year and make your own gift tags this year so all your friends and family know how much you love and respect them.  This tag is cute and easy to make, and you can alter it however you'd like!

  • Blank Coasters
  • DecoArt Americana Acrylics in the following colors: Hauser Light Green, Hauser Medium Green, Black, Flesh Tone, Honey Brown Primary Red, Napa Red Marigold
  • Toy Soldier Pattern

  1. First, I base coated the front, back, and sides of each coaster with light green acrylic paint. I sponged on an even lighter shade to give it some texture.

  2. Next, use transfer paper to copy the main pattern outlines to the dry coaster.

  6. Brush on a coat of acrylic sealer and allow to dry. Then outline details with a black permanent marker. I sprayed the edges lightly with sealer and added some glitter; then spray again so the glitter doesn't rub off. Punch a hole in the top; thread embroidery floss or ribbon through for hanging.
