Christmas Tree Pom Poms

Christmas Tree Pom Poms

Give your yarn scraps and old buttons new life by turning them into a forest of tiny pom pom trees! This project is perfect if you have a bunch of scraps left over after a knitting or crochet project. These are a cheaper substitute for bottle brush trees. You don't even need to purchase a pom pom maker to create the trees. I made all of them with forks. They’re easy to make! Older children and family and friends can all get in on the crafting.

I happen to think these would be great on the mantle. Make the poms way bigger to sculpt larger trees for this purpose. Also, think about all those glittery metallic pastel yarns that are available. Bottle brush trees are a personal favorite of mine but I hate how sharp they are when I am unpacking and packing them. BUttons are a creative base, but you could stick with the wooden mini crafting discs that they sell, too. Paint it in a matching color to the yarn.

These are so cute! I have heard about the fork technique to make Pom poms and it really is a quick and easy way to create them! These little trees would be a nice addition to a gift wrapping alongside or in place of a bow, and becomes a little gift in itself.... You could add a little gold cord or thread to the top to hang it's an ornament on the tree! Cute and clever idea!
