Dark & Stormy Truck Upgrade

Materials:
- 20 Cans of Krylon ColorMaster™ Paint + Primer - Satin Black
- 1 Roll of Masking Tape
- 4 Scotch Red Scuff Pads
- 4 Towels
- 2 Sunday Newspapers
- 5 Washcloths
- 3 Masks
- 6 Grocery bags
- 1 Truck
Instructions:
- Start by scuffing the existing Barney Purple paint (so the krylon will adhere). Scuff everywhere you plan to paint.
- Wipe down painted surfaces with damp (not wet) washcloths. This will remove all most of the paint dust sitting on the surface. Let the wiped areas dry (we were doing this in Bakersfield CA and it was about 98 degrees that day so it took about 20 minutes).
- Use newspaper to tape off all areas you don't want painted. Also cover tires/wheels with old towels.
- Grab a few people (in this case it was me, my Son and my Dad) to start spraying. Try to do thin coats. The idea is to not have runs. Lots of thin coats. It was hot out and each coat dried within 5-10 minutes. By the time u got around the truck, you could start on the next coat. Once about 3 coats were on it was pretty well covered. We went back over some areas a couple more times to be sure it was fully covered.
- Once you are happy with the coverage, give the paint a little time to setup. We waited about 30 minutes then carefully removed the tape and newspaper. Take the towels off and you are done.
