Christmas Cone Ornament

Christmas Cone Ornament

From the Designer: "Frosty Pinecone Ornament. Have your guests be greeted by pine cones when they walk in from the cold. Glittered pinecones are a popular decorative choice of the season thanks to how versatile they are. Their natural beauty goes with any home decor and they can make a beautiful and elegant holiday decoration, adding a charming woodland touch. This project is simple and can be done with the help of your children/grandchildren. Upon completion you will hang it on your tree or on an ornament stand."

Materials List

  • Pinecone
  • Eye Hook
  • Mod Podge
  • Glitter of your color choice
  • Ribbon
  • Greenery (snow frosted evergreen or holly leaves)
  • Poinsettia
  • Hot Glue
  • Ornament Stand

Instructions

  1. Insert a small eye hook into the woody end of the cone. If you can't just twist it to start, drill a small hole or a smal nail to start a pinhole.

  2. Apply Mod Podge to the flat part of the tips of the cone (I used a small paint sponge) and while it is wet sprinkle glitter on the tips.

  3. Once it dries, tie a red ribbon thru the eye hook and knot it and place the knot at the eye hook.

  4. Then add the greenery and a poinsettia with hot glue to the top of the pine cone.
