By: Gabriel Velez for FaveCrafts

Take a boring Halloween toy and make it spooky with Krylon spray paint! Dracula's New Coffin project is just one way you can take plain plastic and give it texture. Choose your spray paint and update those boring plastic toys to make them look even creepier! "Why would a vampire need cold medicine? For their coffin."

Materials:

  • 1 Can of Krylon® Natural Stone Textured Finish (Granite)
  • 1 Exacto knife
  • 1 Roll of masking tape
  • 1 Bottle of gold paint
  • 1 Bottle of black paint
  • 1 Hobby paint brush
  • 1 Tiny strip of Vinyl
  • 1 Bottle of crazy glue

Instructions:

  1. I applied masking tape to all the casket designs and then carefully trimmed off the unneeded masking tape using an Exacto knife.
  2. Once all the casket designs were taped off I spray painted the red plastic casket with Krylon Natural stone finish. When dry, I removed all the masking tape from the areas I did not want the stone finish on. Those sections were painted black and gold.

  3. Two tiny strips of vinyl were used as a hinge to attach the casket lid to the casket using crazy glue.
