Paper Bunny For Easter

"This sweet project is the perfect gift for your stay-at-home friends and neighbors. What a wonderful surprise it would be to find this on your doorstep during Easter week. You can fill the bottle with candy, or fill with water and add a flower from your yard. So, stay home and craft with your kids with supplies you probably already have around the house. This is a fun and easy project. You only need one sheet of paper and an empty plastic bottle from the recycling bin. "

Primary TechniqueGeneral Crafts

Materials List

  • One letter-size sheet of paper
  • Empty plastic bottle
  • Crayons, or markers - pink and black
  • Scissors
  • Tape (clear or matte)

Instructions

  1. Cut the paper in half lengthwise.

  2. Cut one of the pieces in half again.

  3. Fold one of the small pieces in half then cut out a "head" shape. Unfold.

  4. Cut the other small piece in half. Place one piece on top of the other, fold both pieces in half then cut out the ear shape.

  5. With the pink crayon, color the center of each ear and draw a small oval on the head for a nose.

  6. Draw eyes and whiskers on the head with the black marker and "teeth" at the top edge of the large piece (body) at the center.

  7. Place a 2". piece of tape behind the teeth with about 1" showing above. Attach the head to the body by placing on top of the tape.

  8. Flip over then tape one ear at a time behind the head.

  9. Place the bottle on top then wrap the paper around to form a cylinder. Overlap the ends then tape in place. Make sure you can easily remove the bottle.

  10. Fill the bottle with candy and add the cap, or fill with water for a flower and your gift is ready to deliver!

  11. Optional: Write "SomeBunny Loves You" on the front of the body before taping to make your gift extra special.

  12. Step by step photo tutorial and link to a free pattern (if needed) is on the blog.

NotesThis is the perfect craft for kids to make and give during these special "stay-at-home" days with family. Happy Easter.
