Materials List

  • Plain Umbrella

  • White crayon(Optional)
  • White fabric paint
  • Painter's tape(Optional)
  • Foam brush(Optional)
  • Paint brush

Instructions

  1. Plan your design. I decided to draw a dahlia flower.I practiced how it is going to look on a piece of paper before painting it on the umbrella. To make it more easier, I used white crayon and hand drew the design I planned on to the umbrella.

  2. Use a fine tip paint brush and paint over the traced design

  3. Once the dahlia is complete. I felt something is missing so I decided to outline the umbrella. For this, use painter's tape and tape it 2 inches from the hem.

  4. Use foam brush and paint the outline white. It took 3 coats of paint to get a opaque look.Once it is dry, you are done. I added some decorative lines in the center to micmic a real flower and it really added a nice touch to the whole look. That is it!! You can now rock the april showers in style.
