"In todays post I'll showcase floral arrangements you can make out of orchid flowers. On my birthday along with the wooden flower arrangement I also received a hand bunch of purple orchids, white orchids and springeri branches. These quick floral arrangements are great for smaller events and everyday display of your favourite flowers. Let me know which style you would love to try. Have fun!"

Instructions

  1. The first and my favorite is the glass jar with rafia bow arrangement. This Yera brand jar is the Indian equivalent to Mason jars, in local markets you get it as pickle storing jars. For this arrangement I have used six purple orchids, a glass jar, magenta rafia and a while doily. First measure out the rafia and tie it into a bow. Next fill the jar with water and using the twist technique place the orchid stems. Place this jar on the doily. A simple and pretty floral arrangement fit for the dining table and a coffee table.

  2. The second arrangement is again using the Yera glass jar. I have used both white and purple orchids for this arrangement. First fill the jar with water, next layer four xanadu leaves, I used the leaves from my other bouquet. You could also forgo the leaves and just keep the stem placement neat. Next place the white orchids and then the purple orchids. The broader mouth of the jar makes the floral stalks spread out giving it a more candid setup. This arrangement is perfect for the balcony or console table. For a more detailed step by step on the leaf placement please check this post.

  3. The third is a whimsical Alice in Wonderland themed arrangement. The flowers in this setup will only last for about two days. You will require three vintage tea-cups and saucers. First stack the thre cups and saucers over the doily. Next pluck three purple orchids from a stem and place them on the bottom saucer. Add a few springeri stems behind the orchid. Repeat similarly with white orchids on the middle saucer and only springeri on the top saucer. Fill the topmost cup with water and insert a mix of white and purple short stemmed flowers to it. You could also make a linear arrangement with only the three cups. The linear arrangement will last you longer because of the water in the cups. This is a great idea for when you have guests over.

  4. The above three are a few more quick arrangements requiring no more than five minutes each. You could use a tall plastic tumbler and contrast flowers in a single colour. For the second quick style you require a jute pouch of any size and a clear drinking glass which fits into it perfectly. Place the drinking glass into the pouch and fill it with water and some added weight like stones to prevent the glass from tilting over. Next arrange the orchids in a semi circle and adjust the setup. The third quick style makes use of a oval mouthed ceramic vase, you could use any vase you have. Fill the vase with water. Next place two stalks of orchids diagonally at one corner and fill the rest of the opening with springeri fillers. Done.
