Materials List

  • Felt sheets in red and green
  • Floral wire
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Holsters from Holster Brands: Lil' Holster Any, and Hobby Holster

Instructions

  1. Fold red felt in half lengthwise and cut in half.

  2. Take one of the cut pieces and fold in half hamburger style. Cut.

  3. Fold these pieces in half lengthwise and cut (4 pieces total).

  4. Cut these pieces in half one more time for 8 small red rectangles total.

  5. Round two corners of each rectangle length-wise, almost forming a semicircle.

  6. Add a line of glue along one side of a petal and place a wire stem on it. Then add a glue line along the bottom edge of the petal and roll it up. Do this at a slight diagonal for dimension.

  7. Roll the top edge of the first petal over and tack it down with a dot of glue.

  8. Line up the bottom of a second petal with the first. Add a line of glue along the bottom edge, then roll each side up at a diagonal.

  9. Roll over the top edge and tack it with a dot of glue.

  10. Repeat with remaining petals.

  11. Next, cut a 2x2 inch square of green felt and cut out leaves as pictured. Make sure you cut a tiny hole in the center to thread the stem through.

  12. Glue the leaves to the rose.
