Orb Candle Holder

"Find out how I made this Orb Candle Holder using items I had in my craft stash! This candle holder was inspired by one I saw on the Wayfair site. I decided I could make it for a lot less with some things I had on hand. I used a scrap piece of wood, a plastic lid,and some wood pieces I had in my craft supplies from other projects. The best part, of course is the embroidery hoops! I am so happy with my new candle holder that just cost me a few dollars!"

Materials List

  • scrap piece of wood
  • plastic lid
  • wooden candle stick
  • round wooden disk
  • wooden embroidery hoops
  • spray paint
  • wood glue and hot glue

Instructions

  1. Cut a scrap piece of wood to your desired size. I had a 1 x 4 cut to 6".

  2. Using a combination of wood glue and hot glue, glue the plastic lid to the center of the scrap wood.

  3. Once that is dry, glue the wooden candle stick to the center of the lid using the same method.

  4. Glue the round wooden disk to the center of the top of the candle stick.

  5. My hoops were only 8" hoops, so I used the outer hoop so that it would be a little larger. To do that, I removed the metal fasteners on each end. This must be done very carefully, or you will break the hoop. If you have larger hoops, you can use the inner hoop and just use a hack saw to cut an opening.
