Materials List

  • An old T-shirt
  • Pre-made ruffle trim or satin binding
  • Bias tape
  • Pins
  • Sewing machine

Instructions

  1. Measure 50” or more of the satin binding.

  2. Gather the binding with a long stitch and pulling the loose threads. You can also do this using a thread and needle and weaving in and out of the fabric.

  3. Gather the fabric to a length that fits around your sleeve.

  4. Sew bias tape on to the raw edge.

  5. Do the same with the rest of the satin binding tape for as many ruffles as you want on your sleeves. Think about using a variety of colors to give your shirt a flirty flair.

  6. Pin in place and sew on.
