I have been collecting plastic coffee containers for craft storage, mainly crochet. They will hold bulky yarn well with a hole to pull through. There is also enough room to hold a second skein. Another use is for buttons, 1 for small and 1 for large. Can be used to hold those items you accumulate but only use 1 at. Time. I too save the plastic bags linens come in to hold a project when I am away from home. The biggest organization helper has been the plastic 5 drawer wheeled container. They can be purchased at Big Lots. The drawers are clear so you can see your yarn if you use it for yarn storage as I do. I store according to brand and/or size to make it easy to find with brand label placed at the drawer front visible.

To corral zipper bags, used for storing and traveling with crafts: roll to press air air out. Slip - upended - into canvas grocery bag(s).

I use a small zippered pencil case to store my needles, pen, scissors. Works great. And I LOVE the Snapware Yarntainers. I have a different crochet project in each one. Word of caution... they are so durable, but do NOT hold up well in the sun of a hot vehicle in the summer. :-( I lost one when it completely softened and warped itself around my yarn and project. Did not realize I had left it on the backseat, or that it would melt. :-(

I love this idea! Thank you so much - on more than one occasion, I have either had my crochet needle disappear or it has been bent by something - I will certainly try this idea out!

I save all the zippered plastic bags that some linens and curtains come in to store my different crochet and and needlework projects. The bags come in all sizes, are clear and very lightweight. They are strong enough that hooks and needles or scissors don't puncture them. Toothpick holders and empty prescription bottles are also great to hold your needles.

me 2' me 2, now I need an idea to store those bags lol !

I am a multi-crafter...knit, crochet, quilt and some other odds and ends. Last year I bought two plastic pencil boxes for the kids going back to school, and they didn't like them. I find they are perfect for storing my crochet hooks, yarn needles, scissors, retractable tape measure, everything I need for a crochet project on the go. The pencil boxes snap shut so you never end up with everything spilling out. I use the second one to store my circular knitting needles and associated accessories. These boxes are awesome for on the go crafting, but I actually use them all the time, even when working at home. My boys call them my tool boxes lol!

You can also use the plastic coffee containers for your yarn. Cut the hole in the top of the lid then put the ball of yarn inside so no tangles.

The plastic containers that have drink mix (Crystal Light) are really nice to put hooks, nippers, stitch markers, pen/highlighter, etc. Lid snaps on and off you go :)

I buy peanut butter pretzels in a large round container from Costco and when the container is empty I wash it out, put a good sized hole in the center of the lid with a knife heated over a candle flame, remove any rough edges with the knife and an emery board, put tape pieces through the hole all the way around to prevent yard from snagging and voila! I have a nice yarn holder. I have also used a plastic cat litter container that has a screw on lid with a pop top middle( pet stores carry these). This is good for regular size skeins and larger skeins of yarn whereas the round one is good for normal (red heart) and small size skeins (peaches and cream). hope I was helpful to someone.

I use the case of a 60cc syringe. Talk with your doctor and if they have any ask them to same you one.

Great idea for the eye glass case. I use the tubular tooth brush case found in the $1.00 store. Holds several or one of a kind. I match the case with the yarn color I am using. Happy crocheting

I would have thought there would a bit more info. Not just one sentance. Lets come up with some more!
